One thing before you go any further: I don't speak in vehicle names, I reference the tail number. Everybody who worked the vehicles did. If a page or a tape label here says OV-105 and you were expecting Endeavour, that is why – nothing is missing, I just wrote it the way we said it.
The numbering looks wrong and isn't. OV-099 came after OV-101 and OV-102 because 099 started life as a structural test article in a different number series, then got converted into a flight vehicle. The tail numbers record what the airframes were, not the order they flew. |
